Bible Doctrine II (2 Units)                        Instructor:    Larry Grigsby            

This course is a study of Biblical Topics from a theological and doctrinal perspective. This course is a systematic teaching which will provide a resource for all who seek to know sound doctrine which can be worked out into the realities of life and ministry. This semester will cover the topics of: Theology proper, Christ, End Times, Sin and Salvation. The course will be taught by Larry Grigsby who was the director of the Calvary Chapel Bible College Peru Extension. A passing grade in Bible Doctrine I is a     pre-requisite for this course. 

Gospel of John Spanish (3 Units)        Instructor:    Daniel Gabellini   

This will be a verse-be-verse study of the fourth Gospel.  The study of the Life of Christ in the Gospel of John and will cover His words, His works, His ways, and how the Spirit of God can use the Word of God to build up the people of God.  A heartfelt study of the Gospel of John provides a great opportunity to be drawn into a deeper relationship with God.  The course will be taught by Daniel Gabellini who is a leader in the Spanish ministry as well as bible college instructor. 

 Living Water Spanish (Women only) (2 Units)

Instructors: Cecilia Lopez/Nina Lampoon

This will be a detailed study of the person of the Holy Spirit, His diverse gifts, His attributes, and of His ministry in the life of the believer through His gifts.  Cecilia is the wife of Pastor Manny Lopez and Nina the wife of Tito Lampon. 

 

Missions  (2 Units)                                Instructor:    Mark Maciel

The purpose of this course is to know God’s nature as missionary and see the missionary nature of scripture. We will also    emphasize how to make Christ and His mission known to the peoples of the world via God’s incarnation method. This course will be taught by Pastor Mark Maciel.  Mark is the missions Pastor at Calvary Chapel Downey and the Director of the New Life Prison Ministry. 

 

Galatians/Ephesians  (3 Units)   Instructors:Bill Buffington/Jason Norton

This will be a verse-by-verse study through these two incredible Epistles of Paul.  We will cover some of the most important  issues in the Christian life such as: grace, faith, works, redemption, the Holy Spirit, the purpose of the church, election, spiritual warfare, and more.  Bill and Jason are both assistant pastors at Calvary Chapel in Downey.

 

Greek II (2 Units)                                     Instructor:    Onsi Mousa

An introduction to the basics of the New Testament Greek known as Koine Greek, emphasizing on the development of           vocabulary, syntax, and the translation into English of selected passages from the Greek New Testament.  A grade of a B or   better in Greek I is a pre-requisite to this course.  The instructor is Pastor Onsi Mousa who is the Arabic Pastor for both  Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and Downey.  Onsi is currently studying for his Masters of Divinity. 

 

Judges (2 Units)                                     Instructor:    Andrew Cochran     

This class will focus on the period in Israelite history between the death of Joshua and Saul's accession to the throne. We will compare present-day circumstances with the time period of Judges. Old Testament Israel demonstrates common pitfalls and   offers solutions to our modern day problems. This course will be taught by Andrew Cochran, the Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Long Beach.  Andrew is a gifted and passionate teacher, as well as, a  graduate of the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta.
