GIVE UP OR PRESS FORWARD

In Psalm 11 David was facing adversity. We don't know exactly what he was facing - That's good because it becomes easier to apply it to our lives. It was significant enough, that people around him encouraged him to "flee like a bird to your mountain. The wicked men were dangerous, they hid in the shadows, they attempted to assassinate the righteous. Not just these men, but the very foundations of society were being destroyed. What could a righteous man do but run, give up - what's the use. Listen to David's answer? Instead of running we can choose to look up.

Don't give up, instead look up. The Lord is in His holy temple. The Lord's throne is in heaven. He sees all. His eyelids test the sons of men - We are made more than conquerors in all things through Him who loved us.

There are so many people in the Bible who did not run, but pressed forward. Paul was one. A modern day example is Thomas Edison - he was determined to invent an electric light bulb. He saw it to be of great value to mankind. Yet, after countless failed attempts, his friends and family (sounds like Job's friends) They asked him if he was ready to give up. He answered "I am not a failure and I have not failed"

I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work" What a tremendous attitude! Let's not be quitters. Let's finish the task the Lord has set before us. Let's Put our Trust in the Lord.

In Christ,
