LASTING FAITHFULNESS

I was forty years old when Moses, the servant of the Lord, sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart. Nevertheless, my brethren who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God." Joshua 14:7-8

Caleb is a picture of longevity in faithfulness. From his early years all the way into old age, his commitment to the Lord remained strong. While others melted in fear, Caleb stood firm in faith. He believed God's promise when he was 40, and 45 years later, at the age of 85, he still believed. He had endured years of wandering, battles, and hardship, yet his trust in the Lord remained steady.

Because of that trust, he could boldly say to Joshua, "Give me this mountain which the Lord spoke in that day." Caleb understood that God always fulfills His word, and victory comes not through human strength but dependence on God. Caleb reminds us that faithfulness isn't measured in a moment; it's estimated over a lifetime.

God bless you,
