KNOW GOD
You were created to know God in a personal way— to have a relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” We have all sinned. We have all done things that are displeasing to God. There is no one who is innocent.
Romans 6:23b, teaches us about the consequences of sin: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death. Not just physical death, but eternal death!
No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a perfect person. That is because we are all sinners. Sin simply means that we can’t measure up to God’s perfect standard of righteousness. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one.” We cannot become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.
-
The penalty for sin is death, but instead of giving that death to us, Jesus suffered death for us that we might be forgiven by God. The Bible tells us that “God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.
-
Romans 10:9, “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Because of Jesus’ death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting His death as the payment for our sins - and we will be saved!
The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him. When we confess and repent, we are agreeing with God that we need His grace and forgiveness in our lives.
-
Romans 10:13 says it again, “for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in . . .” If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16
The Bible shows us God's character and provides us God's revelation of Himself to His people. In each section of the Bible, we see God's holy, unchanging, faithful, gracious and loving character. Regularly reading God’s word reorients our thinking so that we can grow in maturity, which is part of the Christian calling (Ephesians 4:14–16; Romans 12:1–2).
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

God’s Word calls us to be faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12), and promises He will be near when we call (Psalm 145:18). Scripture is clear; prayer is vital in the life of faith. Consider the following verses:
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful” Colossians 4:2.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” Romans 12:12.
“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth” Psalm 145:18.
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3.
“Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” James 5:16.
God’s Word is rich with the prayers of His people—in times of joy and wonder, and in times of sorrow and hardship. As we pray the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit will work in our hearts to grow and shape us more like Jesus. We will soon find ourselves joyfully lifting our praises and petitions, a natural result of our love and reverence for the One Who created us for a relationship with Him.

Church is the place where believers can love one another (1 John 4:12), encourage one another (Hebrews 3:13), “spur” one another to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24), serve one another (Galatians 5:13), instruct one another (Romans 15:14), honor one another (Romans 12:10), and be kind and compassionate to one another (Ephesians 4:32).
When a person trusts Jesus Christ for salvation, he or she is made a member of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27). For a church body to function properly, all of its “body parts” need to be present and working (1 Corinthians 12:14–20). It’s not enough to just attend a church; we should be involved in some type of ministry to others, using the spiritual gifts God has given us (Ephesians 4:11–13). A believer will never reach full spiritual maturity without having that outlet for his gifts, and we all need the assistance and encouragement of other believers (1 Corinthians 12:21–26).
For these reasons and more, church attendance, participation, and fellowship should be regular aspects of a believer’s life. Weekly church attendance is in no sense “required” for believers, but someone who belongs to Christ should have a desire to worship God, receive His Word, and fellowship with other believers.

Sharing your faith in Jesus with others is a natural overflow of your growing relationship when you know His will, His ways, and His Word. The more you intentionally seek to share your faith, the more you will understand God’s will and purpose for your life.
By sharing your faith and life with others, your relationship with God grows. He gives you the right words (Luke 12:12) and abilities to share the message that Jesus is alive and the Bible is true. And, when they take steps to “be reconciled” (2 Cor. 5:20) with their Creator, you witness a miracle.
There is no greater joy than seeing someone go from darkness to light—from spiritual death to spiritual life (John 5:24). Witnessing life change is another way the Holy Spirit makes Jesus real to you.
God created you to enjoy and exalt Him in every aspect of your life. You see His purpose for humanity right in the opening pages of Scripture, and His plan never changed. He wants a close relationship with you. He divinely designed you for this time and place to know Him (Acts 17:26-27), and help others do the same (2 Cor. 5:18-19). You are God’s masterpiece, and He created you to live your purpose in three ways:
Love God
Love People
Teach them His Word
